A lot of people start their own businesses because they like doing a particular thing (baking, cooking, designing, selling), but very often they realize there are so many things beyond doing that one thing – like book keeping, sales and marketing, customer service – that they are quick overwhelmed. That is also the reason a majority of small businesses fail.

So how to get out of this trap?

Two things. Team, and system.

Team has multiple synonyms: delegation, outsourcing, etc.. The idea is the same: You cannot do everything by yourself if you want your business to grow meaningfully. So start build a team that will allow you to do the thing that you enjoy doing most and the thing you do best in.

System is about operations efficiency and effectiveness. Even though they seem superfluous when your company is small, building a codified system in place allows a small startup to grow smoothly.
